Olympics!

my thoughts about the olympics.

My favourite memory from the Olympics was when the mens Canadian hockey team won the gold because the hockey gold medal win was back to back gold. The women's hockey team won gold too! That was so cool!
If I could do any Olympic event at the winter Olympic games it would be the biathlon. It would be the biathlon because it includes shooting at targets ( which I am good at and like to do) and also includes skiing which I like and would like to learn too.
My favourite athlete of the games was Daniel Sedin because he played well without his brother Henrik Sedin. I say this is an accomplishment because he and his brother are bonded and usually do not play as well without each-other.
Canada came in 3rd place in medal standings. Some say that is very bad but I say it is great!
I say it
's great because the fact that those athletes got to the Olympic level and won a medal at all is an accomplishment! Think about it, out of all those people the Canadians get those medals. Now that is pretty hard-core.

News for Sochi Olympics Day 12 is that Latvian goalie makes 55 saves against Canada in their loss to Canada. That is great for a goalie who did not have as much practice as the Canadian goalie. Good job Latvia!
The Canadians won a gold medal in bobsled! good job Canada!
Won Canadian athlete that inspired me was Ivanie Blondin. She inspired me because even though she came in 14th she celebrated because she went the fastest she could go. Now that is moral!
My favourite event was the mens giant slalom because Trevor Phlip did very well in the competition. THe Giant slalom works by the skiers going down a hll going in between flags.
On thing I learned today was that even if you are not the winner you can be happy for doing your best

Some big news from day 11 is that Evgeny Plushenko said he might come to finish in the 2018 winter Olympics. Great news for Russia!
The Canadians won two silver medals. Good job Canada! We are taking all the silver.
One Canadian athlete who preformed was Mike Riddle  because he did great tricks on the half pipe.
My favourite event was the freestyle skiing men's halfpipe because a Canadian (Mike Riddle) won the silver. This event works by having competitors go on the halfpipe
and do tricks for points and the person with the most points wins.
Some thing I learned was that to change your ming is not a bad thing, but that it can be a g

Some big news on day 10: Charles Hamelin falls in men's 500m speed skating short track! and what a fall! It was like he turned to jelly! Really, his knee and thigh touched the ground and made him slip. To bad...
The Canadians won one medal yesterday so good job!
One Canadian athlete that inspired me was Mike Riddle. He inspired me because he set a hard score to beat in the men's skiing half-pipe even though the conditions were tough. It was so snowy that some times you could not tell the top of the half-pipe from the bottom.
My favourite event was the half-pipe skiing men's. IT was my favourite event because all the tricks that people do are amazing.
This event works by contenders going on a half-pipe and doing tricks. If they do not land a trick well, they messed up their run. The contenders get two runs and the judges take your best score of the two runs. Then the man (or woman) with the best score wins gold and so on and so on.
One thing that I learned today was that even if you are the best at something does not mean you will always win they game ( like Charles Hamelin).

Some of the big stories of the day were: A french supporter overheard Russia and the U.S.A talking about giving each other the gold medal against Canada. And so both countries won the gold. Hmm suspicious.
The Canadians won two medals a bronze and a silver. Good job Canada! Keep it going Canada!
The Canadian athlete that inspired me was
Dominique Maltais because her performance was amazing.
My favourite event of the day was the men's hockey Finland vs. Canada. The score was 2-1
to Canada. It was my favourite event because The game was a close one because Canada won in shoot outs.
This event works by two teams playing well, hockey!
I learned to never give up hope even if your goal is easily diminished.

Some amazing news from day 7 olympics is that U.S.A skier Gus Kenworth has rescued 5 puppies from the streets of Russia and nis going to adopt 1 of the dogs (4 puppies and one mother dog). Now that is some news.
Canada won a Silver medal from Patrick Chan in Figure Skating. Good job Patrick Chan woot woot!

My favourite event in day was the freestyle skiing finals because the tricks are so cool!
The event works by tricks give you points and the failures deduct points. Then they take your best run and the one with the very best wins and so on.
One thing I learned today was to root for Patrick Chan.

Some shocking news from day 6 of the Sochi Olympics is that Russian Figure Skater Evgeni Plushenko RETIRES unexpectedly to bring shock to all of Russia! It's crazy! I support him and so does my mom! this is such a shock to us.
Canada won NO medals on Day 6, but good try Canada!

My favourite event of day 6 was the biathlon.
Biathlon i find cool is because it consists of sports that I enjoy such as shooting and skiing.
Biathlon works by having competitors race to the finish line, and shooting 5 targets each time and mainly trying to get over with the thing while truing to do well at the  same time.
One thing I learned today is that when you hurt yourself in a sport you do not have to keep doing it just for YOUR country. You can take a break even though you have many supporters.

Some news from day 5 of the olympics is: Slovenian Tina Maze and Dominique Gisin of Switzerland became the first-ever alpine skiers to share Olympic gold after finishing their downhill race Wednesday with the exact same time. Pretty cool huh?

Canada won only one medal and that is silver by Denny Morrison. Good job Denny Morrison!
One Canadian athlete that inspired me was the on and only Denny Morrison because he was the only one who won a medal and he easily could have despaired and not have tried and not have won our only medal for day 5.
My favorite event of day 5 was the Mens 1000 m speed skating because they move so fast and it can always get very intense. THis event works by all the racers lined up around the track and the first three make the medals. The classic race. :)
One thing i learned today is to never despair even when your country is not doing the best. Keep hoping and trying then you might get what you want.

Some Stories from Day 4 of the Sochi olympics are: Canadian speed skater Denny Morrison wasn't supposed to race in the men's 1,000 metre race.

The canadians won 2  medals. So Good job Canada!
The Canadian athlete that inspired me was Denny Morrison because he was not meant to race and did not practice but made it to silver medal! now that is what I call skill!

My favorite event was the Short Program Iceberg Skating Palace at 19:00 because israel made it to the finals in 15th place! that is amazing for a small country like that!
This sport works by having duets come forth and dance to a routine for music of their choice.

One thing I learned today is to never underestimate the small countries like Israel in sports.
