On January 29th I was looking for pieces for my project model. I found many pieces that will work for the project model. I found wood, pumps, tubing, and windshields. I have thought and found mistakes in my presentation and have fixed them. I have thought of things that I could add to the presentation. So conclusion is... January 29th was a day that I found produts to build with
On January 27 I sketched a model of what I imagined my model to be like. I think that on January 27 I did very well because I did not talk a lot and also I did not fool around. The only problem was that I forgot measuring tape to measure the table. So I did do well and I am proud of myself for that. I worked hard and finished my sketch completely. So all good and done.
On January 23rd I edited my presentation and found more information on the facts for the presentation. I added on to the Power and control page and onto the main components page. I found that they both were very short and so i fixed them. So overall a very good day.
![]() On January 20th I worked on my power point presentation and went very far. I added a couple of pages and re-filled a few of the
pages. I did well because I got to work I fixed up my Presentation and made it smoother and nicer. I focused and brought all my stuff for my work. I did not though focus as much as i could have, and did not do my very absolute best. I went and looked at everyone else's project instead. I got to make my power and supply and control. I also wrote about my collecting rain water. I edited my writing took out and replaced info that was incorrect. I think I did very well I feel and so... good day yesterday. On January 15th I did research on Pumping Solids. I learned that certain solids require certain strengths and types of pumps. The most common pump is a piston pump. I also learned that the inside of the pumps casing has to have reinforcing or the casing will rip with so many rough solids such as rocks coming through the "hull" will were out. I is like if you were to be in a mine and you wanted to pump up from a mine to the mine office you could use a piston pump to pump up coal or copper or bronze etc. pumping solids often takes up more energy than pumping liquids for the fact that solids are usually heavier and rougher and so takes up more energy.
On January 13 I was researching how certain pumps work. I researched off wikipedia and read. Then I watched videos on pumps how they work and what they are used for. After about half an hour of that I created a write up. In the Write up I wrote what I found out. I also wrote up different names of the pumps. I will tell you a few though not the same way I wrote it. GEAR PUMP:
The Gear pump is a simple pump. It works like this. There are two gears in a chamber. Leading and exiting the chamber are tubes. Around the gears there is a casing. Water rushes in through the "enter tube". Then the water is trapped between the casing and the teeth on the gear. And also some water is trapped between the teeth on BOTH of the Gears. Then the water rushes out of the exit tube and thus water is pumped out. There is also a piston pump. The piston pump works by A piston inside a long vertical tube. leading in and out of the vertical tube is a enter tube. the water rushes into the vertical chamber and the piston pumps it up. At the top there is a tube leading out and thus the water is pumped out in pulses. Those are two of the many different pumps there are. In class yesterday I was to work on cutting and mesuring wood for the first tier of my deck. To achieve this I had to Bring mesuring tape and hand saw. I had to had to find a nice quite room to work in. I had to bring the wood for the 1st section, and I had to find thirty minutes for mesuring
and thirty minutes foe cutting. I did not manage to do this due to the reason I had no time to cut my wood. I spent to much time talking and mesuring that I lost time of the clock. the things that went well were I found a nice quit5e room to work in, I found a new technique to mesure the wood, and after the confidence I gained I think mesuring will be easier next time. thing that went badly were: My clock management , I talked to much, and that I got all the wood wet so my pencil marks were very very faint so that i could just barely see them. ![]() My project will be a no re-fill windshield wiper tank that does NOT overflow. I am doing this because I think it is a waste of time to re-fill the tank so here is the solution. The finale product will be a model of what it will look like in the car without all the stuff inside. There will also be a windshield.
What I hope to learn is to be more handy with tools and learn how to build things, about pumps, Car batteries and how they recharge themselves. For my Genius Hour I am going to make a no refill windshield wiper tank. I will have a windshield
and I will pour water on it. Then the water will pour down the windshield into a rubber half tube. The rubber half tube will lead into three separate plastic tubes. The tubes will lead into the water tank tube. Int the water tank tube their will be a filter and an overflow tube so when there is to much water it will flow out of the car. The filter is for filtering the water of course. that will be my Genius Hour project. |
